Four types of Grants

1. Competitive Grants - Based on the Merit of Your Proposed Project

 

These grants are reviewed by a team. They look at your proposal and evaluate your project to determine if it is a good fit for funding. There are not predetermined.

 

2. Formula Grants – Awardees are Predetermined

 

Formula grants are awarded to recipients who are predetermined.

It is all based on population, number of students in the district, and median income. But are all measurable items. 

 

3. Continuation Grants – Renewal of an Existing Grant

 

As the name states. Award recipients have the option to extend their grant program for funding. It is all based on the initial budget of the Grant.

 

 

4. Pass-Through Grants – Issued by a Federal Agency

 

Pass-through grants are from Federal agencies. Federal agencies transfer the funds to other state agencies and eligible groups per award eligibility terms. The State has the option to make competitive or non-competitive base on the terms and authorizing legislation.
